Cry-ku
A bunch of sad haiku
I think that the title is self-explanatory here. Enjoy. (Or don’t. You could cry instead.)
When I am lonely No one can see me alone Yet I'm still lonely Salt is in the wound Salt is in my tear-water I'm salty and sad The tears burn my eyes And so does the flamethrower Blasted arsonist Is every clown sad? So they say, yes, so they say And they are correct The toys lie unused Who will bring them home, I think? No one, not a one Remember those texts That you never replied to? Your "friends" remember I'm here when you need I'm here, but I won't help you I'm just here is all Nobody loves me That's what I tell myself daily It's self-fulfilling A bird in the hand Is worth two in every bush My birds have left me Know the Muffin Man? I knew him once, yes I did He's gone missing, though
$10+/month commissioned poems are coming tomorrow: Stay tuned! Free subscribers will see part of the first poem. I’d love for you to upgrade to paid and give me the joy of writing a poem to your specs every month.

There's a line from a song that the first haiku reminded me of: "What's a word for lonely that doesn't mean alone." So good.
So good!
